Retro looks for Harper’s Bazaar Korea

Just came across two wonderful retro looks at Harper’s Bazaar Korea for January 2014.
First you see a delicate egg-shaped wool coat finished with white and black arctic fox. And the second one is a beaver jacket in ultra-fashionable silhouette. The look is finished with a Russian-styled hat made of rabbit.

I love this looks as they bring you back to the sweet memories of your grandma's and great grandma's youth!

70s inspired fur coats

Just in a month before Fall ready-to-wear shows start, I would like to concern one of peculiar and mine adorable new fur trend. It might only appear at catwalks, but it will gain its power in next few seasons for sure.

So, in fur coats for the next season there is a silhouette inspired by glam of 70-ies. Knee- or full-length coats with shawl collars and exaggerated shoulder line made of fox, arctic fox or racoon fur.

The novelty is in sleeve length - now it is 7/8, in unnatural fur colors and in production techniques that make a garment as light as a feather.

When choosing this type of coat you should be aware of volumeness as this style talks of richness and attracts attention aiming admiration of the audience.

To my mind, this is a new chick that we need after the years of modest luxury.

The inspiration can be found in a new film by David O. Russell "American Hustle".

Here is Jennifer Lawrence reading her lines prior to shooting scene at "American Hustle". She is wearing a full-length natural color racoon coat with shawl collar. 

You could also come across the prototypes in last FW shows. For example at Saint Laurent show. A knee-length pink arctic fox coat:

Here it is styled with glam punk garments but just imagine it with full-length silk indigo dress! 

Finally here is a street-look presenting a champaign-colored fox fur coat by The Muse By XASSA:

Shortened sleeve and length give a modern twist to the mom-inspired silhouette while the color and volume strength its fashion image.

So let's think about it, let's play with it! 70s are coming back again!

Fendi Pre-Fall 14, fur collection

Fendi goes on with experiments on fur garments. This time they are not that radical as in previous fall collection, but even more sophisticated in terms of color match and implementation techniques.
At the same time the silhouette stays very clean and classical, and that gives models a proper sound of balance.

Tom Ford & Versace in Wonderland Magazine

Just some nice fur coats by Tom Ford and Valentino in Wonderland Magazine fall 13.
I hope this idea to mix fabrics and furs, as well as different type of furs will soon come to the broad circle of fashion, as it can be so chic if combined in appropriate way.
In this photoes it might be too much, but is at the edge of fashion, but the direction is right.

Tom Ford furs in Interview Germany

I have been expecting for appearance of this furs in fashion shoots much more than others from the present collections,  but top-stylists made another choice, well-well...
At least November issue of Interview Germany presented spectacular coats by Tom Ford made of mink and fox in combination with Japan styled brocades in the story called New faces by Joahim Mueller Ruccholtz. One might call them too fabulous, but isn't it wonderful?
In addition you can find a fox fur coat by Roberto Cavalli and fitch fur jacket by Valentino! )

Gemma Refoufi by Kacper Kasprzyk for CR Fashion Book Fall 2013

Obvious trend of this season is ermine imitation in all possible ways. In this story we find mink coat by Saint Laurent.
At the second picture Versace arctic fox coat - very nice with bold red color finishing!

Ok, here I go again with some nice fresh pieces from fall editorials including fur garments I really love!

Remember Ms Alla Kostromicheva as Cruella De Ville a pair of seasons ago in Russian Vogue? Well, seems that photographers love to shoot this girl in furs )))

Latest editorial for US Marie Claire October 13 by Jean Francois Campos.
Special attention to mink top and skirt by Fendi at picture 3 and mink mantle bu Michael Kors at picture 6.

  

After that I've got an unidentified piece from fashion shooting with Valentino fur coat made of mink but interpreting kings' winter finery decorated with ermines. Here actually the whole coat is made of mink using fertile technique of incrustation. Love it also in combination with all this accessories.

Finally, let me inroduce you a shooting by Meghan Collison for Harper's Bazaar US November 13. This shooting resembled me the styling and decoaration for Chanel collection FW 10 11. The same severe nordic landscape and the same dress-code idea. You can find some recognisible Chanel pieces here as well as fur garments from Altuzarra, Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen and Valentino.
